A spectacular new tradition!
Accompanying the lead singers, the Spectacular features five female dancers. Delivering high kicks, shimmies and big smiles, these dancers are as much a highlight of the show as the lead singers. Perhaps that is the best part of this production, that every facet of the cast — from singer, to dancer, to orchestra — is a highlight.” “I urge anyone who loves music and dance, and who is keen to watch ‘Christmas specials’ on TV, to step away from the screen this week and get out the door to take in this wonderful production.”
Yvette Putter from the Ladysmith Chronicle, December 2010
Song, dance, music, fast paced fun and humour exquisitely woven together that draws the audience in to become part of the cast. Warm, loving, exciting and intimate. A ‘must go to’!

Another magical Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular!
They sang, they danced, they played music – and they pulled off another magical Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular!” “Director and producer Katy Bowen-Roberts once again put together a wonderful holiday show for all ages
Ladysmith Chronicle review, December 2009
Best prechristmas event
We’ve attended three years in a row now, and we attended twice last season and twice again this year.
Tricia Barnes, audience member, December 2009
The show can fairly be called spectacular, because it is
…a strong group of musicians, who jump from musical genre to genre with the greatest of ease. The five dancers in the musical revue are to be complimented for their energy and spunk which appears every time they take the stage. The show can fairly be called spectacular, because it is, thanks hugely to the talented singers on stage
Ladysmith Chronicle review, December 2008
We attended your show last night and just have to thank you for the wonderful Christmas show. We have just returned from New York where we saw the Rockettes Christmas Show (which was good) and I have to tell you that we were blown away by the choreography, costumes, sound system, decorations and talent we were privileged to see on our own gorgeous island! You certainly put Christmas into our hearts!
Bettyanne and Jim English, Dec 20 2007
Musically tight, good dancing, fab costumes, good venue. It's a charming, well-thought-out (good mix of material), well presented show.
Hilary Whelton, Vocal director of Bard to Broadway, Dec 20 2007
Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular...is spectacular!
YP performance rocks. From Elvis to Victorian carols and back to Canadian poet Leonard Cohen, the song and dance show that is the Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular is a high spirited mixture. The at-times dizzying variety of material, which includes sonnets, tap dancing and sing alongs, never becomes a mish-mash due to the carefully planned flow of medleys. Director and creative mastermind had only to appear onstage to earn thunderous approval.
Sarah Buck - Ladysmith Chronicle, Tues Dec 18 2007
It is so professional, polished, fun, spirited, musicially delightful - no one could ask for a better Christmas show. It was absolutely fantastic. We just hope everyone realizes how much work goes into such an amazing production and after only 12 days of rehearsal! Watching the show was a magical memory in the making
Gillian and Steve Crabtree, Dec 18, 2007
The show was great!
Costumes were fantastic. Guys were cute. Girls were pretty. Decorations were wonderful. Couldn't ask for better in a variety show.
Angle Barnard, Owner and Your Host for Painted Turtle Guesthouse, Dec 18 2007
The ambiance was magical, the sets and costumes truly spectacular and the performers and band were excellent. The director has taken her vision and truly realized it as an entertaining and enduring event!

Snow can't stop Christmas Spectacular
Despite snow, sleet and wind the show must go on. Cast and crew of the inaugural Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular found themselves digging a path to the door of the Cedar Community Hall during the weekend snowstorm.
